A few years ago, Project: Catalepsy was born with a clear goal: to create a 3D third-person roguelike set in a hellish world filled with dangerous enemies and constant challenges. Every run is a unique experience, and from day one our aim has been to deliver something intense, strategic, and visually striking — a universe inspired by biblical imagery, reimagined with a dark and psychological twist.
What the Prototype Shows
The Catalepsy prototype captures the essence of the game: atmosphere, ambition, core gameplay, and enemies. It doesn’t yet include full level design, but it lets players experience the core mechanics and feel the tension we aim to convey. You can move freely and use blood abilities to survive whatever the depths throw at you.
How We’ve Evolved
Catalepsy is a side project built by a team of nine people in their spare time. What began as a concept has grown into a playable prototype with menus, soundtrack, lobby, and a minigame that showcases the core gameplay loop. Every mechanic, enemy, and design decision has been iterated carefully to ensure a deep and immersive experience.
What’s Next
Throughout the year we’ll publish a series of articles breaking down the prototype piece by piece — mechanics, enemies, design decisions, and the creative and technical process behind them. Our goal is for the community to see exactly how Catalepsy is built and how it evolves toward the final game.
